Bob is beginning his Ph.D in neurobiology at UPEI in the department of biomedical sciences in the AVC. During his tenure as an M.Sc grad student at UPEI he decided to get involved with the Graduate Student Association. Due to his desire to help grad students with their specific issues he ran for the Graduate Student Representative on Student Council in 2008, a position he was elected into and kept for two years. After talks between the SU and the GSA a senate seat was designated for graduate students in the spring of 2010 for the upcoming academic year. Bob decided to run and was elected in the UPEI Spring General Election of 2010, and he is now serving his second year in this position.

On campus Bob divides his time between courses, committees, research, and teaching and instructing labs. When not busy with that extensive list you can find him at Samuel’s in the Robertson Library feeding his coffee addiction.

Outside of school Mr. Deziel volunteers at the hospital weekly and organizes a poker night once a week. He also enjoys geocaching, cooking, running, squash, and playing board games – Settlers of Catan is his favourite.
