As you can see, the website is still coming together, but every day it is getting closer to being finished. If you take the time to explore through our pages now, you will notice that our employment page has now been updated with a list of all the positions that the Student Union will be filling in the coming weeks as we staff back up for the 2009-2010 school year. If you or anyone else you know is interested in working at the Student Union this year, be sure to check out the employment page for all the details about application deadlines and the different positions available. We want to have you on our team this year!

Things have been very busy here at the SU over the past couple of weeks. As the campus prepares for a few thousand athletes, coaches, and spectators to descend upon UPEI for the Canada Games, everyone has been busy all across campus getting everything in place to welcome these guests to our university.

It is quite the operation, and I want to congratulate everyone at the Student Union and UPEI who as has been involved. I will be volunteering during the Canada Games and am really looking forward to the chance to see some of Canada’s best athletes compete for gold here on PEI. Not that I am overly biased (ok, so I am), but let me use this as a chance to wish everyone who is (or is soon to be) a student at UPEI and competing in the Games the very best of luck. Make PEI proud!

As we approach the end of summer, I notice more and more students on campus getting ready to go back to class. I encourage all of you to stop by the Student Union when you’re here to meet your executive, opt out of your health and dental insurance, and to pick up your free Student Handbook.

We look forward to seeing you!

I will probably not get the chance to post again until after the Games, so let me wish everyone a great Old Home Week and if you have the chance, get out to some of the sporting events over the next couple of weeks and cheer on Team PEI!

Cheers,

Timothy Cullen
